The Flip-Flop Clad Scientist. There's a lot to say about Hollander. In Crisis Core, he's somewhat comic relief. He's overweight, and constantly running, whether from Sephiroth, Zack, Cloud (whom Hollander hilariously knocks aside like a doll), or Genesis, but he doesn't get far before he runs out of breath and has to stop to pant for air. Check out the get up. He wears a bright orange Banora t-shirt, chinos, and flip flops under his open lab coat; reminds me of a grad student or something. Anyways, he is responsible for Project G. Hollander was in competition with Hojo, but Hojo one upped him with the successfulness that was Project S.
Enough Already!. I doubt Zack likes Hollander. Imagine this scenario: Your best friend and mentor is indirectly asking you to take his life, and in the background some whacko is harpying on and on Nooo! Not my precious G-Cells. Considering Angeal was Hollander's son, real class act there, Dad. Zack gets the honor of taking this guy out, who caused so much unhappiness. Because Genesis was trying to kill him, and Angeal was already dead, Hollander decides to inject himself with G-cells to save his own neck. Which of course, starts him at deteriorating. So he goes after Cloud, as Sephiroth is presumed dead, leaving Cloud the only carrier live-saving of pure S-cells. No way Zack is going to let that happen though. The boss fight with Hollander, though he does have some hindering attacks, is rather amusing. He has a brown messenger bag slung over his shoulder now. He either digs a rocket launcher from the bag and does this high kneed run after you until he's close enough to hit Zack. Or he dumps out these worms which swell and spit poison gas at Zack. Or he waddles away from Zack so he can put in enough distance to heal himself. In the end, Zack defeats him and he dies, returning to the LifeStream.
